With the Pontoonz DIY concept construction is easy
There are 4-6 basic steps to assemble the hull using main and bow pods.
Step 1
Step 2
Step 1
Assemble the hulls - turn them upside down, join with keel joiner plates and insert a sacrificial keel insert using hardwood or polyethylene strips if wanted.
DO NOT try drilling bolt holes “in situi” Mark in position first and remove to drill.
Step 2
Join bow pods to boat pods (if using) with a shaped beam
Step 3
Step 4
Step 3
Turn the hulls over and fix transverse beams. Having first established width of boat. i.e A maximum legal trailerable Pontoon is 2.4 metres (8ft) wide so each beam should be 2.4 metres. (These beams should be cut and drilled away from the plastic pods so that they are not compromised.) Pontoonz can supply measurements for bolt holes on these beams.
Step 4
Build the bow as per your design requirements. Decking may extend beyond the bows.
Step 5
Add the decking and all the other components you want to complete the craft.
